Pillars of Healing
Empathy and Compassion. I maintain a genuine curiosity with my clients. This drives understanding and compassion for each client's experience. I want my clients to feel heard, respected, and valued throughout their healing journey.
Evidence-Based Approaches.: The therapy models I am trained in are evidence-based. That means science proved, through research , that these modalities actually do help individuals with various mental health issues,
Confidentiality and Trust. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of my practice. Still Water Counseling upholds privacy protection laws and basic common sense.
Authenticity. As a core belief, I strive to be an authentic person. This is no different in session. When a therapist is authentic, clients feel heard and understood. This models healthy self-expression and vulnerability.
Still Water Counseling upholds these fundamentals in therapy practice.
Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity. As a natural learner and love of people, I am attuned to my clients'. This includes recognizing how their diverse backgrounds and identities culture, race, religion, gender, socioeconomic status, and life experiences shape their worldview and healing.
Professionalism and Ethics. I maintain professional and ethical standards by providing quality professional counseling services. adhering to boundaries, consult with other therapists, and seek education to improve my practice.
Client-Centered Care. My undergraduate and clinical psychology degrees program are rooted in Carol Rogers, Humanistic Theory. This says that people have the ability to reach their full potential and are the experts of their own life. I fully believe this. Also, I believe that clients must take an active role in their healing process. Change is hard, but it is also worth it.
Holistic Care: I consider all aspects of a client’s well-being—mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial—to support mindfulness, self-care, and overall wellness. Also, I make efforts to coordinate with other treating professionals.
